Images of Africa

Images of Africa. Jyoti Bindu steers wide of the politics and brings the pictures.

‘…after a while you have to be willing to say what you think.  But the problem is knowing what it is that you think in the first place. ‘

DR, grappling with post-colonial conscience in Stereotypes and Swiss Interns, Trebuchet, 2012.

Over the years, Trebuchet has published tens of thousands of fine words on the subject of Africa. Avoiding the tendency to full Conrad mode, waving opinions or solutions where none are needed or desired, Sterling Carter and DR have both reported and described, without pontification or passive-aggressive shouldering of the white man’s burden.

But words will only ever give half the story. Jyoti Bindu steers wide of the politics and brings the pictures.
