and the rest of us a refresher on our Roman numerals, Mancunian horror-metal outfit Dead XIII sup deeply from a cauldron of the Misfits and the Murderdolls, pepped up with a soupson of The Defiled.

Catching the band as they played support to Griever at Islington Academy2, photographer Carl Batson deemed them ‘One of the best bands I have seen in a long while. They deserve a much bigger stage and headline billing.’
