Exhibition: The Few and Far Between

7th Jan 2011 in Events

The Few and Far Between is a new and exciting arts collective which draws together the freshest and most talented creatives that London has to offer. Launching in January 2011 with a three day exhibition at The Rag Factory, The Few and Far Between provides artists from all different walks of life the opportunity to show their work at an exhibition in a gallery space. Tabitha Booth, an Illustration student at Central St Martin’s, and one of the founding members of the collective says:

Exhibition space is so hard to come by, and I think it feels to many today, particularly students, that the arts world is hugely around exclusivity and high prices. What The Few & Far Between are offering is involvement in something revolutionary and invaluable that gives young and unknown artists a chance to break through in a fiercely competitive market.

The debut exhibition, titled “Few and Far Between”, has been granted sponsorship by Beck’s Beer, Cass Art and Schminke. Spokesperson for the collective Rebecca Goodyear says:

It’s fabulous to be part of such an inspired initiative and to be facilitating artists to help them realise their dreams and ambitions. Through The Few and Far Between, we are providing a platform for artists not only to collaborate but also giving their work the opportunity to reach a wider range of people through strength in numbers.

The space will be host to an enormous variety of work encompassing fashion, art, design, illustration, sculpture, film and animation. Over 100 artists from universities such as Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion, Royal College of Art, Chelsea College of Art and Design, Camberwell, London College of Communications, Kingston University, UWE Bristol and many more. Not only this but we also have the honour of displaying work from several established and well-known creatives including the illustrator Zeroten and fashion stylist and photographer Baiba Ladiga.

Few and Far Between will be held at The Rag Factory, 16 Heneage Street, London, E1 5LJ from 7th-9th January.
