Garnering the Trebuchet seal of approval after a recent stint opening for Wheatus, Mike Doughty hits the stage at The Underbelly, Hoxton, tonight.
The anti-hero wordsmith has released seven solo albums, from indie-rock to leftfield pop albums influenced by the Brooklyn queer-hop underground, various EPs, a covers album, two live albums, a poetry book… and a memoir about that time he was in a successful band called Soul Coughing, didn’t like it, and took a lot of drugs.
It’s late, but there’s still time to catch the inspired punk poet.

The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance. – Aristotle
