[dropcap style=”font-size:100px; color:#992211;”]T[/dropcap]rebuchet invites you to a slow moment.

An escape from the frantic crowds out there on the last Saturday before Christmas, jabbing with their steely umbrellas and hogging up the best seats at Costa. A pre-CGI, pre-multiplex slice of stiff accents and stiffer martinis.

RKO presents Bird of Paradise, the 1932 cautionary tale of savage customs, fragile beachwear and sacrificial human offerings to an angry volcano god. Oh, ’tis dark indeed. Happily there is a love interest, a hero to deliver our fated damsel from the clutches of the bad’uns with the curly knives.

Indulge and enjoy.
